Introducing Shi

Hi!
My name is Shideh, my friends and family calls me Shi. Growing up with a Malaysian mother and a Persian father I was constantly eating and learning about my heritage around the table. Some of my favorite memories are sitting on the counter watching my mom cook. As I got older, my passion for baking grew. I quickly learned that a sweet treat is the best way to cheer up a sad friend, say thank you, and even soften the blow of a break-up. After graduating from Oregon State University (Go Beavs!) I enrolled at The French Pastry School in Chicago where I learned about everything from how to make the perfect croissant to how to make the most magical chocolate hazelnut cake. Nothing makes me happier than dreaming up a tasty new dessert and sharing it with my family, and now I get to share them with you!
